Linux management client and local IAM

Fraîche Flow · IT Systems Integration
Project objective
Provide a Linux workstation for administration, network testing and reproducible operational documentation.
My implementation
- Used ff-mgmt-01 as the administration client and performed SSH, DNS and HTTP tests from it.
- Worked on users, groups, home directories and login behaviour in the local IAM exercises.
- Covered the test accounts berti and schorsch and the stammtisch group as part of the tasks; completion was confirmed by the project lead.
- Documented runbook, test and log structures for administration.
Technical context
| System | ff-mgmt-01 |
|---|---|
| Role | Management and diagnosis |
| User in evidenced access | mn |
| Addressing | DHCP address .100 during the project; later access via .50 |
Result
Terminal output demonstrated SSH access from ff-mgmt-01 to ff-app-01 and HTTP access to the portal. This collection contains no separate original output for the individual IAM steps.
Verification and operational evidence
hostname; whoami; groups
ip -br a; ip route; cat /etc/resolv.conf
getent hosts ff-app-01.fraicheflow.test
ssh [email protected]

Practical troubleshooting
The client address and DNS record were checked together during the project. The DHCP address .100 temporarily differed from the DNS record .50; name resolution had to match the actual address.
Security and technical context
Remove temporary IAM accounts after the exercise. Limit group memberships and sudo privileges. Maintain DHCP and DNS addressing together.
Transferable skills
Client provisioning, local identity management, DNS diagnosis and remote administration.
Project status
Completed according to confirmation from the project lead.
