Legal information

Privacy.

Protecting your personal data is important to me. This privacy notice explains which data is processed when you visit this website, the purposes of that processing and the rights you have.

1. Data controller

The controller responsible for processing data on this website is:

Miloud Necili

Frangenheimstraße 6

50931 Köln

Germany

Email: [email protected]

2. Hosting and delivery of the website

This static website is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare Pages. The hosting and delivery infrastructure provider is:

Cloudflare, Inc.
101 Townsend Street
San Francisco, CA 94107
USA

When you access the website, technically necessary connection data is processed so that the website can be delivered to your browser and the stability and security of the service can be maintained.

This may include, in particular, your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested address, information about the browser and operating system used, the referrer URL, and technical status and connection information.

The data is processed to provide this website technically and to safeguard legitimate interests in its secure and reliable operation, on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

When delivering the public website, Cloudflare adds protection against automated email address harvesting (Email Address Obfuscation). A decoding script is loaded through the respective website domain for this purpose.

For further information, see the privacy information provided by Cloudflare.

3. Server logs and technical logging

The website does not contain its own server-side application for logging visits. Nevertheless, Cloudflare processes connection and request data when delivering the website. Whether and for how long this data is stored in technical logs depends on the Cloudflare services used and their configuration.

Where technical data is processed for troubleshooting, security or protection against attacks, this takes place only to the extent necessary and in accordance with the infrastructure provider’s applicable requirements and settings.

4. Cookies, analytics and marketing services

I do not use analytics or marketing services such as Google Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics or Cloudflare Zaraz on this website. The application code sets no cookies of its own and does not use session storage. The language is selected through the URL.

If you explicitly select and remember a light or dark theme using the theme button, your browser stores only “light” or “dark” under the local storage key “theme”. This preference is used solely to restore your requested appearance on subsequent page views and visits (section 25(2), no. 2 TDDDG). Without a manual choice, the system setting is used and no preference value is stored. The application code does not send the theme value to Cloudflare or other servers or use it for tracking or user profiles. The preference remains until you change it or delete this website’s data in your browser. If browser storage is blocked, switching still works on the current page without persistent storage.

The statements about the application code do not replace an assessment of additional Cloudflare security features and any cookies they may set. Section 25 TDDDG governs storing information on, or accessing information on, your device: consent is required unless a statutory exception applies, in particular for functions strictly necessary to provide a service you expressly request.

5. Contact by email

This website provides an email link. Clicking it opens your email application. The message is not sent through a form on this website.

If you send me an email, I process the information you provide, in particular your email address, the contents of your message and any additional information you voluntarily provide, in order to handle your enquiry.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to pre-contractual or contractual measures. In other cases, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, on the grounds of my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

Contacting me by email is voluntary. Without a valid sender address and the information needed to handle your enquiry, I may be unable to reply.

To receive and send contact emails, I use what I currently understand to be a personal Gmail account. Google identifies Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, as the controller for Gmail user data in the European Economic Area. During email communication, Google processes message content, sender and recipient details, and technical communication data in particular.

Information about Google’s data processing: Google Privacy Policy.

6. External links

This website contains links to external services and platforms, such as LinkedIn, GitHub, Credly and GFN.

These are ordinary external links. Simply visiting this website does not automatically load the linked pages. A connection to the relevant provider is established only when you click such a link. From that point onwards, that provider is responsible for the data processing carried out there.

Please refer to the privacy information provided by the respective providers.

7. Local fonts and website content

The font used on this website is served locally from its own web server. Loading the font therefore does not establish a connection to an external font service such as Google Fonts.

8. Recipients and transfers to third countries

Cloudflare receives connection and request data when delivering this website. When you contact me by email, Google receives the data involved in the email communication. The contractual roles and terms must be checked for each service relationship; using a personal Gmail account does not establish that a Google Workspace data processing agreement applies.

Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. The providers describe the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses as transfer mechanisms subject to the applicable conditions. The contractual bases, safeguards and data regions specifically applicable to this website and the Gmail account have not yet been verified.

9. Retention period

No fixed deletion period has currently been established for email enquiries. The actual retention and deletion practices still need to be reviewed. When defining them, consideration must be given to handling the enquiry, any ongoing correspondence, applicable statutory retention requirements and the necessity of establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

The specific retention periods for Cloudflare technical data and the retention terms applicable to the Gmail account remain unresolved. No fixed storage or deletion period is therefore guaranteed.

10. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the following rights in particular:

  • Right of access to your stored data (Article 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure of your data (Article 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
  • Right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR)
  • Right to object to certain processing (Article 21 GDPR)

Right to object under Article 21 GDPR

Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. I will then stop processing the data concerned unless I demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds overriding your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise your rights, you can contact me at the email address given above.

11. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Under Article 77 GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. For the controller based in Cologne, the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW) is a relevant authority.

12. Updates to this privacy notice

This privacy notice was last updated on 2 November 2026. It will be updated as necessary if the website or services used change.

Outstanding checks

Further Cloudflare security features, any cookies, logging, the applicable DPA version, retention periods and data regions still need to be checked. The verified email address protection and the statements about not using analytics services do not fully resolve these questions.

For the Gmail account, automated forwarding, additional recipients, third-party access and actual retention have not yet been fully checked. These outstanding details must be specified in the privacy notice once clarified.
